Meet Mrs. Diggs
Welcome to Sixth Grade Math! My name is Mrs. Diggs and this is my first year as a Moody Bearcat and my 19th year as a teacher. My family includes my husband who is a pastor and our daughter who is an oncology nurse as well as our fur babies--2 pugs and 2 corgis. I am a proud Texas A&M Aggie and a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, cooking, photography, reading, crossword puzzles and playing Scrabble.
Math is not just about getting the right answer — it's about problem solving, logical thinking, and making sense of the world. Speed doesn’t define intelligence—understanding does. I focus on helping students grow at their own pace and I remind my students that mistakes are valuable. They give us insight into how we think and help us learn more deeply. I want my students to feel confident trying, failing, and trying again. Also, there is often more than one way to solve a problem. I encourage students to share their methods and learn from each other, building flexibility in thinking. Math helps us make smart decisions.
Some of my favorite things...
Dr. Pepper, chai tea latte, sweet tea, Pringles, Reese's Pieces, Whoppers, Heath Bar, the colors pink or red, pugs and corgis
